Innova is the reigning champion in MUV segment in India. Mahindra has jumped in with a challenger Xylo. Lets see how these competes on paper. It is well known that Mahindra had designed and developed Xylo from ground up to beat the Champion Innova. On papers Xylo is better than Innova in most areas. Xylo’s height is more than Innova’s this might be good for getting in and out of the car and for better head room but this will affect the driving dynamics and might increase bodyroll. Xylo might have a engine more powerful than the Innova’s but, its heavier too so the engine’s extra power might not directly translate into more performance in Xylo as it needs to pull extra 240kg.

An ultimate experience and believe me this the breakthrough in the world of MUVs. The only hitch which I found in Xylo is the quality of plastic used but with having so many +ves this can be ignored.
Good MUV but can be improved lot. Cosmetic and interior still to be improved. Mileage can be improved , actual mileage 10 to 11 km/ ltr. Combination of color and facilities and confusing. one can think of making all rage of color be available in all models of the car. Good pickup. good speed. good stability, better control . backside a/c vent can be at other side of the seat for better effect of a/c. on the persone seating in chair.

i hv bought a xylo e4 in june 2009 . lightbrownsilver color .excellent vehicle . the high torque avoids gear changing in low rpms . i lov the ecm settings . Pick up is excellent , road grip is excellent same goes for stability . vehicle reg no is mh-04-dy-766 . fitted sony explod/ autocop 9000/ electronic rat repellant . done 7000 kms w/o any probs .i would advocate this vehicle for adventurers. surprisingly the vehicle responds to criss cross driving without leaving the road . lov it

hi atul , mileage is 10.5 / city and 12/highway reaching the 10000 km and gotta do 2nd service , after that maybe more mileage

Well in my understanding xylo is alternative to innova . One who dont have budget to purchase an innova but still want a good MUV I duly suggest them xylo. With xylo coming in the top 10 sellers toyota shall think of the cost factor of innova or the INNOVA will soon have no sales . They shall bring down some model in comparision with xylo or bring down the cost of innova .INNOVA is luxury for sure but XYLO might soon improve on the same.
I OWN A INNOVA AND IT HAV DONE 1,00,000kms I SAY ITS SIMPLY EXCELLENT AND ALWAYS THERE IS NO OTHER COMPETITION FOR INNOVA IT IS D BEST IN ITS CLASS IN EVERY ASPECT. THOUGH XYLO IS GOOD BUT ITS QUALITY OF PLASTICS AND LOOK CAN’T EVEN STAND NEAR INNOVA AND ALSO OFCOURSE RIDING COMFORT

Well for the guys who purchased innova or xylo..both the cars were rented..i was in the passenger seat of innova for a small 15min drive n it gave me the most terrible ride a car could give..it is absolutely not suitable for a LITTLE rough roads..my back was aching for several minutes…i was also in the passenger seat of xylo e4(which is not the top model)..inside it looked like a beauty and anyday it beats the innova in luxury..as well as comfort is concerned it did not dissapont me..coz it was an hour long drive both through city road and rough roads…it was really comfortable and smooth…the rear seats have a lot of space and comfort unlike innova…mayb from outside innova is far betted but from inside the xylo beats in performance and comfort and also luxury.
I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY AN EXPERT ON VEHICLES THAT INNOVA IS FAR FAR BETTER THAN SCORPIO BUT MYSELF FEEL THAT A COMPANY LIKE MAHINDRA HAS PRESENTED AN ECONOMICAL ALTERNATIVE TO VARIOUS MUVs LIKE INNOVA,SUMO GRANDE,SAFARI,SCORPIO,TAVERA ETC
HENCE THEY HAVE MADE XYLO AFTER EXPERIENCING ALL THE POSITIVE FEATURES OF ALL ALTERNATIVES THEREFORE IT SHOULD BE A VALUE FOR MONEY PRODUCT.
CAN SOMEBODY SUPPORT ME ON THIS OPINION WHO HAVE TESTED THESE ALTERNATIVES.

Xylo a superb vehicle, more tough and sturdy with great inbuilt which drives u crazy. its an unstoppable in highways…..a best best best buy for tight budget with more power than innova. but Interiors quality have to be improved more

One by one, Xylo problems are now surfacing. Dealer says these are initial teething problems but looks like I made a mistake and should have opted for Innova v 2.5. Xylo broke down on a tour with family and luggage from Bangalore to Calicut. Car had to be towed away and got delivery only after 10 days. Dealer was evasive what went wrong. Belive me, I feel cheated already and am planning to sell this.

In the world of Taxi services, innova is unparrellel because of its comfort and performance. Go for the international standard vehicle. It is seen that the vehicle which are indian make wont sustain their performance for long which includes ‘Great XYLO’. While I was purchasing MUV, never considered XYLO as an option as I cannot consider as an alternative to INNOVA. Though the price is higher, INNOVA is selling more than XYLO, wonder is that those who prefer MUV for personal purpose will look first option as INNOVA. This is Japanese technology, not American, not Indian, so can trust
i have been on the lookout for a MUV for personal city use.I have test driven XYLO,TATA,INNOVA .But unabe to deicde which one is the best.Each time when I was about to book my vehicle,new information received made me differ the same.Thi s is going on for the past 3 months.Can somebody really help me to choose the best for city drive as well as reliability.

I got the Innova in Feb this year and I think it is an addiction, you just cant compare it with Xylo, Scorpio or the Safari in any sphere and moreover Toyota is an International Brand.
i use xylo last one year.xylo is good but some problems are in the xylo like breaks’door noise and accileter not work properly i complent those problems to dealer meny time but they cant solve this problems

Don’t get compramised urself by just some thing about the car which u like by looks..
Just travel in Xylo and Innova for 100kms then u urself will say that ur favourate car Xylo is a big nonsense….

I am planning to go in for a MUV/ SUV & one of the primal factor is quality sustainability with international features & deliverance year on year….. Which vehicle should in go in for–Innova , or Xylo
iam waitng for the muv for Rs. 1.5 lacs. i have confidence soon tata will launch a muv alternative to both innova and xylo. it is tata nano IIsi . so dont compare innova and xylo both have individual features. and wait for tata nano II and important thing is don’t even imagine to comare this with any of the current top MUV’s.

We purchased Xylo E4 model in January 2010. to be frank with you all, I like the features in Xylo which can be compared to the so called champion “INNOVA”. Yes Innova is a Japanese Technology but being an Indian feel proud that Indian Technology has improved vastly to throw a challenge to any level of technological improvements internationally.
Mahindra Xylo is one such challenge from the Indian brains thrown to the orld at large. It has very very better Third Row Spacing compared to any other MUV’s currently running. Even the AC cooling effect is more effective. The road grip is great so is the comfort of riding (both as a passenger & driver). We have gone through long drives with family & all were happy at the end of the road not even feeling a bit tired or weiry.
Mainly I purchased Xylo for the brand “MAHINDRA” & also the features that came jam packed with this. This is really a BEAST on the road more apt for city as well as long drives.
Mahindra even knows how to train its sales personnel. My sales person named Mr.Sathish of MPL Automobiles, Chennai, had the answers to all the queries thrown at him by me both in terms of quality & effectiveness of Xyo. The most important thing that I loved with this person was that his approach towards customer satisfaction i.e., we were actually test driving E8 Model,
When i enquired to him about the features available in the model I selected (E4), Mr.Sathish gave me the reply About the features that are available in my model (E4), whereas the other brands where I took the test drive, replied by pointing me the features that were not availble in the model I was looking for in that particular brand.
By this simple example it is clear that Mahindra not only can throw a challenge via products but also through Sales & Service.
Simply a great vehicle. I’m happy that my investment is a worthy one.
i love innova but iam not even have cash to buy bi cycle. so how ican able to comment about xylo?so what am i to do?
My family is getting bigger and wanted to buy MUV kind of vehicle and started working the details and looking for cars in Market. I found the 2 INNOVA and XYLO as of now leading in the section. I saw
1.INNOVA and definitely it’s interiors are far much better than XYLO

i have seen the xylo and its value for money , its interiors is amazing and cost is also much less than comparable model of innova.
so far its new vehicles so as far as my opinion it will be very early to say about the xylo , let it pass 2 or 3 yrs and then we can compare with innova.
innova is tested and champion in its series while xylo is new in this series of muu . so lets watch and see
what happend to xylio
those have plenty of money will go for innova and those who care for money xylo is best

I have been using Mahindra INVADER and BOLERO SLX for the last 8 years my experience is very good about maintenance and average. I have drived INVADER almost 2.25 lac km without any trouble.But feel some pickup problem in SLX, and door noise. But now I am planning to buy and good MUV like INNOVA or XYLO or SCORPIO. I have taken suggestion from many people I got wrong feedback about XYLO . But I like the vehcile I am confused about the same can any one suggest me which one is better.

I have both the Toyota Innova and the xylo. So my experience is very valuable for a person who has plans to buy any of these 2 vehicles. I would say that Innova is far better than Xylo in all respects. Only attractive thing about the Xylo is its cheap. Innova has superior interiors, better looking, good Brand name( compared to mahindra), it has better driveability, good ride comfort, etc…. So please dont go for Xylo..It looks like a chineese car..I am going to sell my xylo…Innova is far better..
