Jul 10th, 2008 | By Premnath Sah | Category: FavoritePost, Hot, Technology

Researcher at academy, large organizations try to push the limits on technologies everyday. They develop many new technologies of which few becomes mainstream. Today, lets see few technologies which will become mainstream.

Mobile Technologies

3GPP - LTE

3GPP long term evolution is a technology which will succeed 3G networks with higher bandwidth, improved capabilities, lowering costs and improved spectral efficiency. Lets see what LTE has to offer us

Bandwidth:

  • Peak Download: 326.4 Mbit/s for 4×4 antennas, 172.8 Mbit/s for 2×2 antennas.
  • Peak Upload: 86.4 Mbit/s

Which is 23 times that of 3G bandwidth!

Latency:

  • sub 5ms

Better VoIP, Video Conferencing, mobile gaming and other interactive applications.

All IP Network:

  • Everything is IP (internet protocol)
  • Voice call we make will go over IP.

Demos:

  • NTT Docomo demos 200 Mbps at mere 100 mW - here
  • Nortel and LG demos 50 Mbps while moving at 110 kmph - here
