Intel Larrabee to be powered by decade old original pentium cores?

There is lots of speculations/rumours going around about the possible technology being used in Intel Larrabee.

It is interesting to know that Intel’s latest and greatest technology Larabee with mimics AMD fusion is going to have 32 processing cores. Each core will have the micro architecture of original Pentium processor with each having 512 bit wide SIMD (Single instruction Multiple Data) vector processing unit. Its estimated that each core running at 2 GHz will produce enormous amount of calculation power in the range of 2TFlops.

Power Usage of this new system is claimed to be max of 300Watts it is a lot of power.
