Intel announces Ultra low power processor - ATOM

Intel has announced official name for the processor with codename Silverthorne. Its Atom and will have logo saying Atom inside (in line with famous intel inside). Silverthorne is x86 chip built from ground up for ultra low power consumption for comepeting with the likes of ARM/VIA in low cost processors. Its designed around 45nm fabrication process and expected to consume 2W at 2GHz it is atleast 20times less power hogging than current range of Intel/AMD processors.
