Google’s Energy Plan: Clean and renewable energy

Google has announced about their energy plan which can be put to use by government. It speaks about how we can reduce the dependency on oil and non-renewable energy.

Reduce demand by doing more with less: This talks about increasing the efficiency of all existing infrastructure.

Develop renewable energy that is cheaper than coal (RE<C): This talks about renewable energy which can potentially produce energy cheaper than coal. It includes energy sources like

  • Wind
  • Solar thermal
  • Advanced geothermal

Electrify transportation and re-invent our electric grid: Here they talk about using battery operated cars and plugin hybrid cars. They also mention about building Smart Power Grid and their collaboration with GE for advancing in this area.
