OpenOffice 2.4 is a open source office suite with many features. It is fantastic if you need basic office applications — such as a word processor or spreadsheet — at no cost. despite its shortcomings, OpenOffice.org remains the most fully featured free office suite we have come across, and for this reason it well deserves our Editors’ Choice.

    It has support for new microsoft office 2007 file formats docx & xlsx

    I Agree with you that open office 3.0 beta is out. lets wait for the final release or atleast RC (release candidate) and put it head to head with other office apps
