Suzuki GS150R vs Apache RTR – is it worthy enough to compete with Apache RTR ?
Nov 16th, 2008 | By Premnath Sah | Category: 150 cc bike, Reviews & ComparisonsSuzuki GS150R is the new kid in the 150 segment bikes. It has few interesting features like 6 speed transmission, good looking digital console, seems to have more torque than Apache RTR. Lets compare these two beasts.
When we talk about torque Suzuki has taken some effort to extract from extra Torque from the engine putting it to 13.4 Nm. We should also take RTR 160 FI into equation because it is the greatest from TVS and regular RTR to be fare. Absense of Electronic Fuel Injection system is not excuse for Suzuki because they entered the market late without EFI inspite of competitor having a model with EFI.
This comparison is to see how partner’s few years back fare as competitor’s.

It is very clear in papers that when it comes to top speed and sheer performance Apache RTR & FI will put Suzuki GS150R to shame. We shall have a test run of Suzuki GS150R and post our impression soon.

Its a poor comparison… how can u compare 150cc bike(suzuki) with 160cc bike?
Its possible because both fall into same segment. As you can see, we have mentioned that we wanted to compare products from two companies who where partners not many years ago.
I own Suzuki gs 150 r and its awesome comfort for the rider as well as partner sitting on the rear side of the seat unlike in Yamah Fz16..Looks are just superb and no bike in 150cc can be compared to it especially Yamaha FZ 16…
Pick-up and mileage is mind-Blowing and its gear shifting as well is so smooth that u fell riding a sport bike…Display meters are just eye catcher…The modes- Economic as well as Power are so amazing for any type of rider which are useful for mileage seeker as well as speed seeker….
Its engine is just like a superbike which makes less vibrations…Its die-cast alloys just don’t leave the road…Its headlight and tail-light are extremely powerful….Its Unique speeding as well anti-vibration factor is its sixth gear..
In my opinion, it has beaten all the other bikes like Yamaha FZ 16 , Hunk, Unicorn,Pulsar and others in various terms like styling, Fuel efficiency, speed , performance, etc….
So all u buyers confused about purchasing a new bike I suggest Suzuki Gs 150 r…
hi ameya..
i’m planning to buy suzuki gs150r.. plz tel me the actual mileage in city ride as well as highway ride..
People have reported that it gives mileage of around 50 in econo mode and it should be less in power mode.
Guys new unicorn will be coming soon
YAMAHA THE MAN—————–TEAM YAMAHA ,,,,,,,,,,,,FZ 16 IS BEST,,,,
yeah FZ16 better than anyelse in 150cc..
but i think suzi n TVS have a good point than good looking
hiiiiiii frnds, i purchased suzuki gs 150R few months ago. it’s a amaging bike.top speed of gs is 128 km. n milage is about 50 in power mode. i beat a pulser 150 in 5th gear at a speed 110 with my gs150R.
this bike has MORE POWER N LESS VIBRATION
wow man its cool that suzuki gs150r is in compare between apachi rtr160fi but i think that suzuki gs150r is more comfortable than apachi. suzuki have gerat pickup that we can gate more comfortable than other bike but its has less power headlight that we cant see easily.
fz 16 is is better look than gs150 r but it is not suitable for long ride due to its low foot range and the sitting position .it is the bike for college going students not for other .sporty looks make its market high. pick up is not so bad.
i have both two bikes at my home my apache and my brother,s suzuki gs 150 R, i think Suzuki is best bike ,dont compare it with bloody shit apache
Suzuki engines are world class ,Suzuki GS150R have more than 120 kmph top speed without any vibration ,That is suficient for Indian roads ,Suzuki GS150R is good in 150 segment
I am a daily commuter of 28 KMs(14+14) daily. Road i go will not permit speed above 40. Moreover i wont speed beyond 50. I plan to buy a new bike. Currently i own max 100. People suggest me 150cc bikes since i travel a long distance. Do i buy GS150 R. What is minimum speed limit I have to maintain in 4 , 5 and 6th gear. Please do post me yyour opinion.
I sugested only suzuki gs 150 r because iam using this bike before i have pulsar, I hate that bike because of its maintanance its chain and sproket is not good because the tyre is big the company made only poor chain and sproket not pulsar all the bajaj bikes is poor engine gs 150 is good and comfort to drive in highway and in city
suzuki is very good quality engine and better perfomance than pulsar and unicorn. About its milage milage is deponding on two facts
1. the rider
2. Its usage (Means do not go above 50 kilometers for 6000 Kilometers. After 6000 kms the engine become smooth, then the second first 6000 km recomondint to go long trip in highways to get better m
When i buy the bike I got 45 in city trip. after the three service i got 55 in city and 66 in long trip in highway
I have checked it by using the cane that 250ml of petrol in cane and test the milage in city and highway
150r is gr8
Do not compare a fighter jet with a Boeing 747 Passenger flight
Apache is just another vrooom machine not meant for real time (commuter) use; less comfort high speed
GS150-R is a commuter vehicle where you can travel comfortable with your kid and wife
It will give pleasure for the pillon rider
I am using it for the past 1 year
No pain during long journey thanks to the ergomical seating position and yes even at 120kms no vibration and moreover low and smooth sound (comparing to apache and pulsar)
I am getting 55 city and 65 to 70 on highway (measured using reserve to reserve method)
people, i wanted everyone to know this ,
suzuki gs150r, is the best among the 150 no doubht but the is some customization to be done to make it more better and comfortable,
fix the pulsar handle bar ,
change the rear tyre get a more gripper and wide tyre,
one big disadvantage is that it does turn smooth in the sharp mcurves people plz be care full it is very difficult to control this bike in high speed in the turning as you know the back tyre will skid………..
