After Tata unveiled Indica Vista, B Segment Diesel Hatchback group has got a very competitive entrant with lots of features to muscle with the international players. One of the main feature of the New Indica Vista is the new award winning lightweight Fiat diesel engine which is under the hood.
Indica Vista not only comes with new Fiat engine but also with Fiat’s gearbox making it a car which is delight to driver. New Indica also packs lots of luxury features which are going to be deal breaker and shall make some serious dent in Swift Diesel sales.
Lets look at the comparison of the New Tata Indica Vista (both variants) with the other players in the field namely Competent All Rounder Swift from Maruti, Very Powerful Getz Prime from Hyundai and Luxurious Fabia from Skoda.

Here Performance wise Getz Prime is clear winner which shares the drive-train with its elder sibling Hyundai Verna. Maruti Swift and Indica Vista shares the second spot in performance as both these cars have similar/same engine. Fabia comes in last when it comes to performance inspite of its 1.4 lt displacement.

Skoda’s featurelist is huge and it is clear winner when it comes to luxury features and build quality. Tata Indica Vista comes in second with lot more feature than the other two. Few deal breaking features like inbuilt car stereo, airbag (coming soon) are present in Indica Vista but not in Swift VDi or Getz prime.

new indica vista hs more features as compaired to swift and also giving better perfomance than yhe latter.we can adjust stearing as well as seat up & down.but one thin i want to say that the quality of the tape buttons is not so good..and if this will be improved,then it will be the best car n that range.

Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet is a clear winner. It is far better than Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI. Swift inerors are cramped, ride and handling is worse, shape is vry bad and it is costly compared to Indica Vista. Indica Vista “JAI HO”. If you have brain never buy Swift VDI. Go for Indica Vista and enjoy your drive, comfort etc. Indica Vista is always Good Value for money car.
indica vista quadrajet is simply awesome…i did test dive all da cars above .skoda is a diaster af em all. it is too loud on the outside like a tractor…seriously? if a new skoda makes such a loud noise wid a new engine ,i wonder how it wil b wen its run for a year or two.swift is nice but is clearly beaten by vista in interiors.engine performance is same though.(coz of same engine).gets is also not v.impressive.it got more horses but nt da proper make. so my vote goes to INDICA VISTA QUADRAJET especially LIMITED EDITION VISTA which i recently bought.
you guys are goners..arun says swift’s ride and handling is worse than indica vista! are you kidding me? just becoz those TATA motor guys have added a few tit bits on the dashboard doesn’t mean swift is out..it is best in class in handling and ride Dickhead..and mr aditya swift’s DDiS is far better than your quadrajet..and the indica is still a TATA product,wait and watch…

Suzuki swift is a world class car, in australlia it is the best selling small car, afterall its a japanise technology yaar!
I own both cars swift vdi, indica vista, my dad use indica n’ m using swift vdi.

yaar…i also own a swift vdi..and one of my frnd has purchased limted edition of vista qjd…. when i started both the cars together …vista got started sooner than swift and engine is also less noisy than the swift….both cars have same engine but gear box of vista is more refined than swift…. so in this my frnds vista beats my swift….

Hi… Read abt all the comments… I own India Vista(Aura) Safire.. and its almost 8-9- mnths now. The car no doubt has gr8 Performance, spacious from inside, Nice leg space, looks big, better interirors and exterior.
Currently its giving me mileage of 13 km/ltr (Petrol).
Compared to Swift …. i would say Swift is a good vehicle as its tried and tested by mostly all of us and its in the market since long. I too trust Swift but as its high in budget so i went for Vista..
Over all i would give them equal marks in performance and look wise i woul give Vista more weightage….

If you want to buy drive both and decide. Swift VDI is a great car with best in class handling among these (not sure about the punto not driven). Indica’s handling is ok but not as enjoyable and precise as the swift, neither are its interiors any match for the others. I would say the engine is good but the body and suspension not that good. Gearbox ,i like the fabias and the swifts. For a good reliable VFM and fun to drive car go for the swift. For insane power Getz, Great interiors and build quality fabia. If you do not care about resale value or interiors or handling then go for the Vista which has best in class interior space. (Especially if you have a big family or a chauffer.)

NO worries…..i’ve been researching to buy a sedan typr car first, then i moved to hatch back, once i decided for hatch bag, i had Gets, swift & Vista QDR, Gets powerful engine but they stopped the sale, so left with 2 option swift & indica vista, i took months time to decide by reviewing automobile magazine many studies and research, i came to a conclusion both are equivalent, then i took 4 to 5 times test drive even 5kms drive in swift & Vista, i was happy to buy swift till 17th Aug, decided to buy on 18th Aug then one of my collegue said vista is good, just for sake of his words i tooka test drive, i was really impressed in VISTA only after taking the test drive only, i was excited to drive becasue the driving comfort has given me petrol engine feel, comfort was good, pickup was awesome. then i finally decided to go Vista, now i booked my Vista , where expecting to be deleviered at any time.
One of my frien had given very bad suggestion and feel about swift, the problem he faced in swift is rattling noise, break is nto upto mark, though swift is proven, friends really give some time for VIsta not becasue of TATA , becasue of FIAT.
I hope you guys will come to some conclusion after my comments…

I own both the Indica Vista Aura & Swift Vdi, i find the indica vista to be a much better vehicle than my swift, it is also much quicker than the swift as the vista produces 190nm@1750rpm against 190nm@2000rpm, even its more silent than swift…… of cource the dash board quality is not as good as the swift but not bad either(ofcouse we cant forget the huge price diff btwn the veh). Most ppl hav a doubt abt the reliabilty of vista, but let me tell you my vista bought in oct 2008 has very less ratteling sounds than swift bought in dec 2008 (Vista has done 12,000kms & swift 8000kms) this is really noticable…….even the vista has more features than swift…..worth the price i paid for…..good work by TATA Motors a 10 yr old company has beaten 50 yr old suzuki in every cornor…….TATA Motors has made us proud…….i would recomend ppl to buy vista than swift…..guys buy the vista than swift without second thoughts………..

RAting out of 5 Vista/Swift
1. Space 5/4biggest in it section
2. Seating comfort/driving comfort 5/4
it has lumber support, adjustable steering
3. finishing 4/5 swift us way ahead
4. Cost cheaper than swift.
5. Mileage 18-20km in city as i drive 60-80kmh
highway 24km same as above 100km it gave 22km
driven 12000km in 11 month
6. 2 tone interior better than swift.
7. gear is smoother than swift.
8. a little sleazy in 3rd gear but ignorable.
9. shock absorber is better that swift…
overall 5/4 to 4.5
My vote go with Vista
but choice is yours both car are equally good.

I am surprised to know people talking about ABS & airbags..Gentlemen could answer me why are fooled by company big gimmicks. Don’t fooled by company safety features:-

2. Dear Airbag lovers…sorry to say in the front seat if person wearing seat belt at 100km(all small cars can’t go beyond that-they can make it with lot of effort & to showoff with cost of life of car) work very well in frontal impact. For side impacts there is no air bags, dear nor seatbelt can protect you(what ever is seen in TV is taken in 100MPH-”167kmh” NOT 100KMH).
So all airbags/ABS lovers JAAGO use your BRAIN…..don’t go by their Advertisement train……

I wanted to purchase my own car, so I took test drive from all the car-brands like Swift, Hyndai and Tata indica vista and Ritj. After driving for 10 min of all the cars, I simply went to the Tata show-room at CP and booked one Indica Vista Quadrajet., It is great in it’s category. Why people are waiting for long for swift with premium price? My advice go to tata vista. After all it is TATA. I have a fasination with this brand name because they are maintaining the quality, service and status.

hi friends, i own my getz prime crdi .it is really good,and rocking performance(feel like flying jet!!).it contains the engine of verna thatswhy.i tested all hatchback cars.but only getz crdi fills my satisfaction.it consists large leg room, head room and big boot space.all are due to the big wheel base.its looks also good.like,sports car and euro chick design and fine aerodynamic,But,because of the superb performance.,.have to compromise on the mileage.i love my getz!!!!!!!!! . tku.
hey………..indica vista is a king and a bench mark in its segment while swift dzire is a good sedan but after unvieling the new indigo manza in mid of oct it is sure that it will beat soon dzire and give a dent to its sales……….

it gives a gud millage as compared to Indica Vista. vista gives the millage b/w 17 – 19 whereas swift gives 20- 24 . itzzzz ride is perfect .
i don’t think there is any difference in noise . noise of both cars is same.
in my opinion Swift VDi is top class car then any1 car in dis segment.

I do understand the skoda fabia have an engine noise however its VolksWagen engine. The car was sold even if you drive in 170-180 KM/P. The safety features are phenomenon. the miliege is good it gives about 16 to 18 on the high way. may be more In the city its giving close to 15. The interiors is great and it’s got ample of space for the rear seat passengers.
I took Test drive of SWIFT LDI and VISTA Qudrajet. Both Cars are good.
But still I am not able to decide which should UI buy.
Pl. help me
Its really good Hatchback available in market. It is more specias as compared to other cars. Backseat leg comfort is amessing.

tata is giving us fiat engine with all luxury , i m 6.1” and i feel better in indica vista , the power of the vehicle is awesome,
if you are ok to compromise with luxury, driving quality and want a show off then only go for swift vdi. Think in that way , suzuki is giving us fiat engine with less luxury than vista at price greater than vista,
if you are a middle class person and think of money before investing it , then your car is indica vista, if you have lot of money to waste then you can go for swift.
if you like swift’s model then go for sedan version dezire.

I am owner of Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet, Interior is fine Pick Up is fine, but since I bough the car Its gving me hell lot of troubles, In 10 days I faced starting trouble, they confirmed of faulty Ignition system and whole system was changed in 15 days, after that i had a few troubles in car, the latest one is (My car is just 6 months and 10,000 Kms Old), Accelerator functions after 3 minutes of car start and there was loads of Smoke from cylencer (Like 50 years old truck), upon check up they found intercooler was broken and it was just due to a small hit to a Luna (Abouth 4 months back), at a speed of 10-15 Kms in a very crowded road of a City, I am really surprise how this could be possible?

I purchased a new Swift VDI 2 days back from Vitesse, Andheri. I am experiencing some problem with the left side suspension. It make a hissing sound on all roads except on clean flat concrete roads(which is very rare in Mumbai). I took my car to the service station (Vitesse in Andheri) and they said the sound is coming from the left suspension and it is common in Swift diesel variants. However I was not convinced with this explanation. Has any swift vdi owner here faced such similar problem?
i owned ritz.i Had a ride to Mysore and even touched 140 km/h. The vehicle was very much stable and was realy cool… Features, as I look at my Ritz:- New Exterior looks, Stylish, Tall, Comfortable, Good Legroom and Headroom, Cool Interiors, Rear Seat’s 60:40 fold to accomodate more luggage, Great space to keep various things around Dashboard, New Dashboard design, New engine’s good features, Great Pickup, Smooth driving, Great view, Good hold on vehicle even at high speed, Mileage-18… so best choice is ritz..

hi, I am owner of Indica Vista Safire Aura, and after 8 months of my car, i do not have any problem in my car, its riding quality is really better than maruti swift, and as per features, vista is very much better than maruti swift except its stiff steering. It feels like a big car, but i am suffering service problem from TATA cars in nagpur. Their services are just worst……
then just remember guys if u r planning to buy a car, then Vista is the best option, but just make sure that the TATA’s service is really good in your city.

Don’t take it personally. TATA products come with great customer satisfaction and Value for money.This is very true in any of the model.
I believe Vista is far better than Swift.
Feature wise its good and performance wise also it’s good.
Don’t get confused, why we are not seeing any vista cab.TATA is intentionally not allowing it . We had seen already in Logan.
Take test drive, and check all features, then deside.

I purchased tata vista aura qudrajet in November,2009. On 20th March,2010 when i went with my mummy in my car from BHARUCH,GUJARAT to VADODARA,GUJARAT on N.H. 08 with 60 km/hr. speed at second (middle ) row suddenly the front left hand side tire was out from its rim and i lost my control and my car was gone to right side and accident done with full load truck,. my car was damaged from front bumper to rear bumper by truck and car was kept at front side of truck. Truck driver was very active so, he done break the truck instantly and saved our life. I am very thankful to truck driver and god. I got my car to tata’s authorized service station for maintenance and service center given me estimate near about Rs. 80000. The manufacturer of tyre is GOODYEAR ,which is leading tyre manufacturer in the world. I and my mother were shocked for this bad test. My mother was cant spoke anything up to two days. I complained on-line to tata motor about poor quality of tyres. Nowadays my family members are not ready to seat in my VISTA because they believe that if company will replaced tyres and who will give us guarantee that this event will not happen in future. Now, what i have to do. I cant understand that how is it possible that tyre out from rim, and not i but technical person of autho.service station was also not understood that how is it possible. I am requesting to TATA MOTOR COMPANY that pl z. change supply of tyre company’s tyres in its all products because I came to know from Internet that this type of events are already done with many people due to very very bad quality of this GOOD YEAR company’s tyres.

Seen all the comparison betwen vista n swift. I hv clocked 59000km in 14months in my Swift Vdi with an excellent milage of 25km with ac on highways, frequent highway rider and of course i use synthetic engine oil.and timely routine maintenance on 7000-8000kms instead of 10000km, Swift is def. a driver’s car, I love its ride, handling, ac, braking everything except for the simple interiors but still they are better than vista. I have driven vista, the roof and the visor just come on front of your head, which tall people like me wont like that. The lighting in the instrument cluster where u see most of the time while driving is not attractive as incase of swift. the meter rpm n speedo looks attractive in swift where as in vista it looks as if it is on a scooter, the NVH quality inSwift is far more better than any other diesel car in this cataegory.
Well this is my personal view, what i m getting and have got from my Swift i hv written. Given a choice again to buy another car, i would ratther prefer a Swift vdi, as i have tried and tested in worse driving conditions.
Tata motors should change the tyres of all sold vehicles free of cost.The incident which BHAVNESH B. TAILOR
has mentioned is a very serious one.Tata should recall all Vista vehiclrs & should change the good year tyres.Incidently I own a Vista Aura Saffire.
hey guys i am ravi ………. i own a getz prime diesel of 110 bhp , vista tdi, swift vdi………i found getz to be ultimate in performance and milage……swift is ok but brakes wont work beyond 140……..vista anyways cries to go beyond 140……..getz could touch 180 with no probs absolutly………..only backlog for getz is goodyears tyres………….out of all getz is reliable with best service………….as a proud owner of indica vista i request any one not to purchase a tata car for family purpose

HI All, I own a Indica vista Limited Edition (Quadrajet ) since last 15 months, untill now there has been no problem how so ever, i think 15 months time is pretty reasonable time to judge the performance of a car…. I feel Vista is clear winner… I have compared its with my cousin swift vdi…..

I am owner of Indica Vista Safire Aura, and after 8 months of my car, i do not have any problem in my car, its riding quality is really better than maruti swift, and as per features, vista is very much better than maruti swift except its stiff steering.

I got my swift Vdi in november 2009 and i find my car to be highly comfortable,good looking and mileage is good.I haven’t experienced any difficulty with my car till date.my friend who got a vista feels so bad … cost is less so as other aspects too…….The performance,speed ,looks,quaity,riding comfort is sooooooooooooo great in swift and vista can’t even cum closer to swift…..u can feel to be in safe hands with Maruthi Swift .If u dirive long then only u can understand the difference …… SWIFT is an UlTIMATE car,CLASSY & u can always rely on Maruthi Suzuki ….
