Nissan Pivo 2: new urban concept electric car

Nissan Pivo 2 is a environmental friendly electric urban commuter embodies cutting-edge technology, user-friendly innovations and Robotic Agent to create a new car-driver relationship.

Pivo 2 is successor of Pico released in 2005. The centerpiece of Pivo 2’s unique design is it revolving three-person cabin and "by-wire" technologies that substitute electric signals for conventional mechanical linkages (shafts, hydraulic cylinders and other components) in the steering braking and drivetrain systems.

Features and  Specifications:

  • Inferring a driver’s mental state by facial expressions

  • A totally new concept, the Metamo System enables independent control of each wheel
  • use of In-wheel 3D Motors and X by-Wire technologies
  • The angles and position of the wheels are controlled to ensure an even load across the chassis to match driving conditions. This optimises load distribution and ensures stability with minimum body movement during acceleration, deceleration, braking and cornering.

  • Has twice the torque output of a conventional electric motor.
  • Energy consumption of a conventional lightweight vehicle
  • It generates torque equivalent to that of a V8 4.5L engine (528Nm)
  • Power equivalent to a 2.5L engine
  • Battery capacity has doubled and energy efficiency is improved by better response to regenerative braking.
  • The new lithium-ion battery has twice the energy density of conventional batteries
