Toyota is going to unveil Toyota Altis in India on September 5, 2008. You might have seen the advertisements on newspapers as Toyota Altis, It is actually, next generation Corolla to beat the Challenger from Honda Civic. After the release of Honda Civic in India, People started opting for Sportier Civic than old looking Corolla. This new Altis is not the same old Corolla, Its expected that it packs a lot of change not only in looks but also under the hood.

Toyota Altis is not a new car. It is already available in Malaysia, Indonesia and other South Asian countries. It is yet not know whether it will have same engine as found in those cars. If it has same specification there will be a bump in the horse power and torque when compared to current Corolla and will exactly match Honda Civics spec of 132 BHP Power. Lets hope Toyota releases a good challenger to Honda Civic.
