Windows Vista! “I am searching for an email from Prem sent last week” - Powered by NLP
Aug 15th, 2008 | By plumCAKE | Category: Software, TechnologyYes you can ask natural english like questions to the Windows Vista search. But such a great feature is turned off by default.
Even though Vista is out there for lot more than a year now… most didn’t know about this natural language search feature.
Now lets enable the feature:
Folder Options (you can find this in the control panel), select the “search” tab, and enable “use natural language search“. Then, you can write queries into Windows Search like the following:
“Email messages from Rosh after Aug 15″
Similar valid search strings are
- email from Santhosh sent last week about quantum physics
- documents by prabhu about sales modified last week
- feeds from Sethuraman
- music by suyi
- Gana music rating *****
- pictures about Deepavali taken November 2006
COOL huh!! Try it yourself and pass on the message to friends … let everyone enjoy this useful feature !!
