” MOTOROLA ” - on hearing the name the first thing which strikes everyones mind is RAZR, yes we are going to discuss about the record breaking MOTORAZR and more about Motorola phones. This drop-dead gorgeous phone came in an impressively slim and ultra-sexy clamshell-form with a brushed aluminum casing, a colour screen on the outside along with a strikingly bright 2.2-inch colour LCD on the inside. It may not be strike gold now but 5 years ago this was revolutionary, especially when it came packed in a drool-worthy design. No wonder PC World pegged this Moto marvel #12 in its list of 50 greatest gadgets of the year.

MOTORAZR took the market by storm, and helped heavily in the facelift for Motorola which was on a downward trend till then in the segment. RAZR’s charisma was so much that Motorola ruled the cellphone market in most of the continents for couple of years. No wonder more than 50 million RAZR’s were sold by 2006. Though critics say RAZR had lot of technical snags, it was popular among public.

But of late Motorola seems to have lost the steam. Though Motorola released lots of new models in the form of SLVR, KRZR, ROKR, RIZR, MING and more after Razr, nothing could make a mark in the market. Is it because the phones released were not upto people’s expectation or Motorola couldn’t meet its own high standards set by MOTORAZR!!.
