Nikon D3 vs Nikon D3X : Compared

Nikon D3

Nikon D3X

nikon_d3 nikon_d3x
The D3 is all about speed and sensitivity, twelve megapixels on a big CMOS chip means large photosites (8.45 µm pitch to be precise) and that adds up to base sensitivity of ISO 200 to 6400 with an additional two stop boost over that (up to ISO 25600). The other side of the speed story (apart from blistering AF and shutter lag) is that the D3 can shoot at nine frames per second with AF tracking or eleven frames per second without. Other headline features are a newly branded EXPEED image processor, a new 51-point AF sensor, color AF tracking, dual CF compartments (with UDMA support), an amazing 3.0″ 922,000 pixel LCD monitor with Live View (including contrast detect auto-focus), HDMI video output and even a virtual horizon function which can tell you when you’re holding the camera perfectly level. Nikon has announced the D3X, its latest high-resultion professional DSLR. Sporting an imaging sensor with double the number of photosites of the popular D3, the 24.5 megapixel D3x includes similar features such as a 3.0″, 920,000 dot LCD monitor with Live View, 51-point autofocus, EXPEED image processing and HDMI output. To keep up with the demands of stock photography the camera produces 50MB 14-bit RAW files that can be processed to produce 140MB TIFFs. It also supports Nikon’s wireless system and is compatible with Nikon’s new GP-1 GPS unit.

Tele Zoom point and shoot camera comparison. Canon vs Panasonic vs Sony

Dec 18th, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Camera, Hot, Hot Photo, Photography, Review & Comparison, Reviews & Comparisons, What to Buy

Canon PowerShot S5 IS

Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ18

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5

The ultra-powerful 12x optical zoom on the PowerShot S5 IS means you’ll get the shot you want with no compromise, yet that’s only the beginning of what makes this camera so exciting. The S5 IS is loaded with many of Canon’s latest advanced technologies including the DIGIC III Image Processor, so both still images and movies are rendered with fine detail and luminous clarity. And now ambitious photographers have even greater creative latitude thanks to an included hot shoe adapter that allows you to attach Canon Speedlite EX Series external flashes. If the 10X or 12X lens on your typical ultra zoom camera just isn’t enough, then the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 ($399) might interest you. Based on the DMC-FZ8, the FZ18 packs a whopping 18X zoom lens into a body that’s still relatively compact (by ultra zoom standards). Not only is the zoom powerful, but it has a nice focal range: 28 – 504 mm. Sony’s Cyber Shot DSC-H5 sits at the top of the company’s current crop of megazoom cameras. Fittingly, it has all the specs you’d expect in a camera of its class, including a large, image-stabilized 12X optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD screen, a 7.2-megapixel CCD sensor, and a full set of manual controls.Step-up snapshooters, soccer moms, and even some advanced amateurs will find that the Cyber Shot DSC-H5 has a lot to offer. The huge zoom range is great for occasions when you want versatility but don’t want to lug around a DSLR and a ton of lenses. Plus, the wide maximum aperture of f/2.8, along with the image stabilization, helps in low light.

Nikon D80 Vs Nikon D90

Oct 13th, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Hot, Hot Photo, Photography, Review & Comparison, Reviews & Comparisons

Nikon D80

Nikon D90

The new Nikon D80’s combination of high-end features and its 18-135mm DX kit lens make a killer photographic tool for the amateur and intermediate photographer who can’t afford or justify the extra cost of the Nikon D200.

While it is very similar to its predecessor, the Nikon D70s, and sports the higher 10.2 megapixel resolution of the D200, the Nikon D80 is replete with new features and advances in overall quality that make it a great upgrade for D50 and D70 owners, plus a compelling “other choice” for those who’ve been looking at (or waiting for) a Nikon D200.

It looks so similar to the D80 the D90 appears at first glance to be one of those rather subdued incremental upgrades, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find there’s plenty to keep Nikon fans happy.

First and foremost there’s a new CMOS sensor, which Nikon claim produces D300 quality output at up to ISO 6400 and – one of several features to ‘trickle down’ from higher models – the same highly acclaimed 3.0-inch VGA screen as the D3/D300. Naturally it has Live View with contrast-detect AF and it would have been surprising had it not sported some form of dust removal system. More surprising is the inclusion of the world’s first DSLR movie mode (720p HDTV quality, no less) and HDMI output, though as we’ll see later it does come with some limitations.

Nikon D60 Vs Canon 1000D (Rebal XS)

Oct 8th, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Camera, Gadgets, Hot, Hot Photo, Photography, Review & Comparison, Reviews & Comparisons

Canon 1000D/Rebel XS

Nikon D60

The EOS 1000D. It shares bits and pieces with Rebels gone by and, depending from which angle you look at it, the new model is either a stripped down 450D or a ‘reheated’ 400D. It’s a lower specification camera than the 450D, by every measure you might see listed on the shop shelf, but is not the huge step down that its market positioning might lead you to expect. The D60 is a direct replacement for the D40X (the D40 will stay around for a while as Nikon’s budget option), and once again it’s not a major upgrade; the sensor remains the same (though now has a dust reduction system) and the external design is almost identical. There’s a few new features, including the same Expeed processing ‘concept’ seen in the D3 / D300, Active D-Lighting, an eye sensor (to control the screen display), and some tweaks to the interface, but perhaps the most significant change isn’t to the camera at all; the move to an optically stabilized version of the kit lens.
