Nikon D5000- 12.3-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera

The Nikon D5000 is a newer version of the Nikon D90 in a smaller, lighter package with a flippy screen.
Unlike the D90, but just like the D40, the Nikon D5000 cannot autofocus with older AF lenses. You need AF-S (or older exotic pro AF-I) lenses for the D5000. This is no big deal, since the best lenses for the D5000, like the new 10-24mm, 12-24mm, 18-55mm, 35mm f1.8, 55-200mm VR, 70-300mm VR and 70-200mm f/2.8 VR etc. are all AF-S anyway.
