Tele Zoom point and shoot camera comparison. Canon vs Panasonic vs Sony

Dec 18th, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Camera, Hot, Hot Photo, Photography, Review & Comparison, Reviews & Comparisons, What to Buy

Canon PowerShot S5 IS

Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ18

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5

The ultra-powerful 12x optical zoom on the PowerShot S5 IS means you’ll get the shot you want with no compromise, yet that’s only the beginning of what makes this camera so exciting. The S5 IS is loaded with many of Canon’s latest advanced technologies including the DIGIC III Image Processor, so both still images and movies are rendered with fine detail and luminous clarity. And now ambitious photographers have even greater creative latitude thanks to an included hot shoe adapter that allows you to attach Canon Speedlite EX Series external flashes. If the 10X or 12X lens on your typical ultra zoom camera just isn’t enough, then the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 ($399) might interest you. Based on the DMC-FZ8, the FZ18 packs a whopping 18X zoom lens into a body that’s still relatively compact (by ultra zoom standards). Not only is the zoom powerful, but it has a nice focal range: 28 - 504 mm. Sony’s Cyber Shot DSC-H5 sits at the top of the company’s current crop of megazoom cameras. Fittingly, it has all the specs you’d expect in a camera of its class, including a large, image-stabilized 12X optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD screen, a 7.2-megapixel CCD sensor, and a full set of manual controls.Step-up snapshooters, soccer moms, and even some advanced amateurs will find that the Cyber Shot DSC-H5 has a lot to offer. The huge zoom range is great for occasions when you want versatility but don’t want to lug around a DSLR and a ton of lenses. Plus, the wide maximum aperture of f/2.8, along with the image stabilization, helps in low light.

Nikon D60 Vs Canon 1000D (Rebal XS)

Oct 8th, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Camera, Gadgets, Hot, Hot Photo, Photography, Review & Comparison, Reviews & Comparisons

Canon 1000D/Rebel XS

Nikon D60

The EOS 1000D. It shares bits and pieces with Rebels gone by and, depending from which angle you look at it, the new model is either a stripped down 450D or a ‘reheated’ 400D. It’s a lower specification camera than the 450D, by every measure you might see listed on the shop shelf, but is not the huge step down that its market positioning might lead you to expect. The D60 is a direct replacement for the D40X (the D40 will stay around for a while as Nikon’s budget option), and once again it’s not a major upgrade; the sensor remains the same (though now has a dust reduction system) and the external design is almost identical. There’s a few new features, including the same Expeed processing ‘concept’ seen in the D3 / D300, Active D-Lighting, an eye sensor (to control the screen display), and some tweaks to the interface, but perhaps the most significant change isn’t to the camera at all; the move to an optically stabilized version of the kit lens.

Xacti E2 camcorder records underwater

Sep 3rd, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Camera, Gadgets, Hot, New Cameras, Photography

Sanyo on Wednesday introduced its Xacti E2 digital camcorder. The camcorder records video onto a flash media card and can work underwater, as well. It costs $399.99.

The Xacti E2 features a “pistol grip” style design and records video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format at 640 x 480 pixels. It can also take 8-megapixel still images. The device is waterproof and can operate underwater to a depth of five feet, according to Sanyo, for up to one hour at a time.

Video and still images are recorded to SD or SDHC flash media cards — a single 8GB SDHC card can store up to eight hours of full motion video or about 2000 images, according to the company. Video and still images can be uploaded and viewed on a Mac or PC using an included cable.

The camera features 5x optical zoom, a flip-out 2.5-inch LCD display, 60 frame per second recording, anti-shake digital image stabilizer, sequential still image shooting at up to five frames per second, and a new underwater scene selection that adjusts colors.

The Xacti E2 measures 2.8 x 4.4 x 1.6 inches and weighs 9.1 ounces with a battery installed. It comes in either blue or pearlescent white finishes.

Nikon D90 : Pictures, Specification and Comparison with D80 and D40

Aug 29th, 2008 | By Rosh PR | Category: Camera, Gadgets, Hot, Hot Photo, New Cameras, Photography

The much-rumored and even more longed-for update to the Nikon D80 has arrived. Or will, in a couple of weeks. The Nikon D90 doesn’t replace the popular D80, which moves down Nikon’s dSLR product line, and unsurprisingly, provides some significant enhancements over that 2-year-old model. Most notably, the D90 is the first digital SLR to support movie capture.

Front View , Side View

Though its movie-capture specs aren’t too shabby–24fps 1280×720 motion JPEG and support for VR optical image-stabilization if the lens has it–D-Movie still doesn’t match the best of the snapshot-camera movie modes.
